Six, nearly seven, years ago I had the idea to have a mini market to showcase the baby accessories I made and the goodies my girlfriend Stacey made. We wanted to have some pocket money for the trip to Sydney we were planning for a friend's wedding.
The place for the market had to be at this cute little spot on the corner of Ellerslie Main Highway and Ellerslie Panmure Highway. It was a shop I’d recently found in my neighbourhood. Their Foyer was always so welcoming, displayed beautifully and I fancied the space and the local-ness of it.
Having told Stacey it was this place or nothing, I plucked up the courage to go in and propose my idea and ask if they’d kindly accept… and they said yes!
Debbie (mum) and Anna (daughter) welcomed us, and it turns out several other makers we roped in, to their space and that’s where General Collective began. We’ve been friends since!
‘General’ came from their shop name which was General Trading and ‘Collective’ given we wanted to create a collective or incredible New Zealanders doing awesome creative work!
Today, I’m super proud to share Annas new venture: Follium Store. Anna has created a ritual-based collection of self-care products designed to either calm or elevate the mood. Three products are contained within each therapeutic range an aromatherapy body scrub, a candle and tea. They’re gorgeous!
So, here for you is F O L L I U M.
Go for the stars Anna! 💫
