This wonderful new collaboration brings a unique General Collective market experience to the heart of the city alongside this year’s SkyCity Christmas festivities.
“We are really excited about our new partnership with General Collective and bringing something unique to the city this Christmas,” says Jonathan Spittle, General Manager Marketing New Zealand for SkyCity.
“Christmas is a little bit different for everyone this year with families not being able to celebrate together due international travel restrictions. Our focus this Christmas is to bring people together to enjoy the season and provide an experience that is fun and accessible to everyone.”
Across two consecutive Sundays, General Collective will showcase a special Christmas lineup of talented Kiwi creatives. Grab gifts for nature loving kids from Little Farmer, treat yourself to bold jewellery and accessories from the talented Afronique and buy yourself an early Christmas present - a New Zealand made full brimmed hat from Makadora.
All our makers will have their stalls chocked full of beautiful, unique Christmas gifts for the whole family.
“If ever there has been a Christmas to support local this is it,” says Rose Barbarich, Founder of General Collective. “It’s something we are so passionate about at General Collective and we know it makes a huge difference to people who have done it particularly tough this year. We are so excited to be able to provide platforms like this for our creative community to get out there and show people what they’re made of.”
Alongside General Collective favourites there will be live music from Auckland duo Becks and Michael to get you in the Christmas mood. Federal Street and the plaza area will be buzzing with Christmas magic including Santa and his helpers who will be handing out candy canes and taking selfies with the kids.
Be mesmerised by the incredible interactive lighting installations from the highly talented Angus Muir Design and have your photo taken amongst the UV spaghetti.
Stay a bit longer and take the family on a guided tour through the interactive All Blacks Experience and from December 15th you can explore Weta Workshop Unleashed – an immersive, interactive tour which is part film set, part creative workshop.
