This King’s Birthday weekend, immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of creativity, family fun, and exceptional shopping at The King’s Birthday Market & Whānau Festival. Held at The Cloud on Auckland’s Waterfront, the festival will feature a curated General Collective market offering a diverse array of products and experiences that cater to the whole whānau.
Discover an eclectic mix of over 60 vendors, each bringing their unique flair and quality craftsmanship to the event:
- && Tie Dye specialises in high-quality, long-lasting tie-dye creations that are perfect for both kids and adults. Their vibrant and fun designs are sure to be a hit with the whole family.
- Airihi Design Studio, based in Auckland, is a haven for those who appreciate bold colours and individuality. From vibrant prints, cards, and stickers to unique gifts, accessories, and homeware, Airihi Design Studio offers products that bring fun and energy to your living spaces.
- Ao: Inspired by the natural world and the beauty of their Coromandel hometown, the husband and wife team at Ao create handmade jewellery using silver925, 18KGP, and 9KG. Their designs are long-lasting and reflect a deep love of surfing and the ocean.
- Artefact gives new life to unloved construction materials, transforming them into beautiful and functional homewares. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand in small batches, ensuring every item has a unique history and story.
- Bath Bombs NZ, a General Collective market favourite since 2018, offers a range of bold, fragrant, and fun bath bombs. Each one is handmade using the finest ingredients and fragrance oils, promising a pampering and relaxing experience.
- Harrington Road caters to men with their natural skincare products. Using premium New Zealand ingredients like East Cape Manuka oil, Kawakawa, Red Seaweed, and Black Fern, their products are designed to calm, soothe, and nourish the skin.
Alongside the market, there will be a host of free activities for all ages. Kids can enjoy a pop-up playground made entirely of recycled materials by Junky Monkeys, clay heart making and face painting with Rainbow Rascals, upcycled sewing workshops with Sew Love, a picnic play zone, and circus workshops with 3 Ring Riot.
Keeping the festival spirit alive, DJs Dylan C, Huia, Stinky Jim, and Sandy Mill will provide dynamic sounds throughout the weekend. Plus, some of Auckland’s best street food vendors will be serving up a delectable offering of sweet and savoury treats to keep you well-fed throughout the festival, including:
- Akemis Gyoza, handmade authentic Japanese dumplings in three flavours—pork and garlic chives, chicken and prawn, miso and shiitake—all served with homemade ponzu sauce and chili oil.
- Oh-Acai offer exquisite Acai bowls, Acai smoothies bursting with real fruits, and comforting Acai porridge—all crafted with a commitment to authenticity and wellness.
- The Corner and their delicious gluten-free loaded corn fritters, served in four ways, are a must-try. Enjoy vegetarian & meat options inspired by Kiwi and South American flavours. A popular choice is classic fried onions, smoky bacon, and cream cheese—all matched with their homemade sauces.
- Tati Fruitti: Stay hydrated with fresh cold-pressed juices and fruit smoothies from their mobile juice bar, with all options being vegan.
